Newton is a management Consultant in finance, project management and process transformation. Based in Florida, he worked for major firms like AT&T in Finance and IBM as a Managing Consultant. In Nigeria, Newton has worked in the aviation industry and as Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa Governor.
Newton was born in Akassa, in Bayelsa State. He completed his secondary and Higher School Certificate education in Nigeria,and later obtained a Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering in the UK and the MBA in the USA. More so,He is a certified public accountant and project manager.
Newton has served as Treasurer on the boards of National and Regional not for profits (Non Governmental Organizations) in the USA.
A graduate of Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C., and Legal Practitioner licensed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Atonte Diete-Spiff currently doubles as the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Traditional Rulers and the Special Assistant to the current Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty King Alfred Papapereye Diete-Spiff OFR, JP, DF. The Chairman serves as a very important advisor to both the Governor of the State and the President of Nigeria on important security issues, peace building interventions, governance, community development issues, and traditions.
Her extensive work experience include 5 years as a Real Estate Sales Representative; 6 years of banking and finance at American Savings Bank and Coast Federal Bank in Beverly Hills where she received the Silver Award for Top Performance on two occasions; .5 years as Senior Policy Advisor in the United States Congress, 3 years as the Group Head Corporate Affairs and Policy Advisor to the Chairman of FSB International Bank Plc in Lagos Nigeria; and a stint as the Secretary General of Empowerment Support Initiative, an NGO based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Atonte was appointed as
a member of the Governor’s Technical Team in Bayelsa State for 3 years and during this period also served on the Bayelsa State Economic Team and was Scribe to the Technical Advisory Committee to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. Thereafter she was appointed Chairman of the Bayelsa State Pensions Board where she served for 2 years.
Atonte has been a speaker and contributor at several conferences including but not limited to the Keynote Address on The Role of the Legislature in Governance and in Sustainable Economic Growth, delivered on behalf of Member of the United States Congress at the Fifth Nigerian Economic Summit held in Lagos on November 1998; an address on Renascent Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities for Re-inventing Nigerian Nationhood, delivered to the Council on Nigerian Peoples and Organizations Conference. Houston on September 1999; an address on HIV/AIDS: Mobilizing College Students to Make an Impact, delivered during the Constituency for Africa (CFA) Workshop. Washington, DC in 2000; an intervention on Institutionalization of Democracy in African made at the Policy Forum organized by the Washington based Global Coalition for Africa in Dakar, Senegal on October 1999; intervention on Urbanization in sub-Saharan Africa: Issues and Implications, made at a Policy Forum organized by the Global Coalition on Africa.in Abuja on October 2000; an address on Gaining Insight into the Effectiveness of Constructive Engagement in Resolving Local Content Challenges: The Gbarian Rubie LPG Plant Experience, delivered on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of Bayelsa State at the Global Local Content Summit in Piccadilly, London, September 2010.
Recently inducted as a Certified Mediator and Conciliator by the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, she is also member of professional organizations including the Nigerian Bar Association and FIDA. In addition, she serves as the Legal Advisor to the Bayelsa State Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Nyengiebi Felicia Koin-Akamande
Nyengiebi Felicia Koin-Akamande ( a.k.a. Nyengi Koin) is from Kaiama, Bayelsa State. She attended Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School in Yaba Lagos State, on a Rivers State Government Scholarship from 1970 to 1974. and She studied Television Production and Directing in England as well as worke for Nigerian Television Authority as a Producer for 12 years. Thereafter, she moved to the United States of America where she studied Child Development. She has taught school and worked with Children and young Adults for over 20 years.
Nyengi is a Teacher, Hostess, motivational Speaker.and Author. Two of her books have been used as recommended texts in English Literature on the Federal and State levels, as well as in Command Schools. Nyengi currently works as a Freelance Editor.
Dr. Aaron Foisi Nmungwun
Dr. Aaron Foisi Nmungwun is a media/communication Expert and has been an international aid Administrator/Diplomat. He is a founder and CEO of Foisi Broadcasting Network, Inc. (FOISI), a Pan-African Broadcast Corporation that will eventually broadcast Internet/Online Services, Satellite Radio, Digital Terrestrial Television and Mobile Television Signals in and out of all 54 African countries.
Dr. Nmungwun started his career at A.C. Nielsen Company. For over 20 years he has been an Adviser and Consultant with well-known entertainment, media and broadcast television companies in the United States of America.
Dr. Nmungwun has served as an Officer with UNICEF, an Agency of the United Nations in New York that is the main advocate for Children around the Globe. .
Dr. Nmungwun’s book, Video Recording Technology: Its Impact on Media and Home Entertainment (Routledge), is a respected Broadcast textbook used throughout the US. He is also a co-author of History of Communication Technology. He holds a double major Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Industrial Relations and International Business from New York University; a Masters of Business Administration degree in Marketing Management from Pace University Graduate School of Business, New York; a Masters of Arts degree in Film (Cinema) and Television and a Ph.D. in Communications, specializing in Cinema, Media Studies and New Technologies in Media from New York University.
Dr. Nmungwun is a Founding Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Ijaw Foundation; as well as a Founding Board member of Andoni Forum USA.
A Professor in the Engineering department of South Florida, O. Geoffrey Okogbaa completed his Secondary Higher School Education in Nigeria before migrating to the USA. He received the BS and MS in Engineering from the Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. A registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering and COREN, Professor Okogbaa was the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Wukari where he recently completed his 5-year nonrenewable tenure. His non-academic interests are in the areas of sustainable development and STEM* centric capacity building for the Niger Delta where he hails from. His NGO (currently inactive) focuses on widow ministry in the Northeast of Nigeria.. (*STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.)
Ebi I. Komonibo
Ebi. I. Komonibo is an Engineering Consultant specialist in Turbomachinery and he lives in Houston. He is from Odi in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA Bayelsa State. With his background in Chemical-petrochemical, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Ebi has worked in many continents with companies developing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants
Ebi is a member of the deacons board of directors of an A/G Church in Houston, a founding member of a Christian based NGO that support local churches to be relevant in their environment. He is a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a writer and active promoter of Izon culture amongst diaspora in the US.
